Naturalization Matters

Reasons Clients Contact the Firm

Difficult naturalization cases often involve an issue extending beyond the current Form N-400.

N-400 Denied

Review the denial, factual findings, governing law, N-336 deadline, and possible next steps.

Good Moral Character

Evaluate criminal conduct, taxes, false testimony, unlawful acts, or other issues affecting naturalization eligibility.

Criminal History

Determine how arrests, convictions, dismissed cases, DUI, drug offenses, or older criminal records may affect Form N-400.

Prior Immigration Problems

Review earlier visa applications, permanent residence, marriage cases, immigration violations, or conflicting records.

Residence & Travel

Analyze lengthy absences, continuous residence, physical presence, and other international travel concerns.

N-336 or Federal Court

Evaluate administrative review after denial and potential judicial remedies when appropriate.

Before a Consultation

Useful Information for a Naturalization Case Review

The relevant documents depend on the issue. You do not need to reconstruct an entire immigration history before contacting the firm.

I. USCIS Decision or Notice If USCIS issued an N-400 denial, RFE, continuance notice, N-336 decision, or other notice, have a copy available.
II. Form N-400 A copy of the filed application can help identify answers, dates, and issues USCIS may be reviewing.
III. Relevant Prior Records Depending on the issue, this may include criminal records, immigration filings, travel records, tax documents, marriage records, or prior government correspondence.
IV. Important Deadlines Tell the firm promptly if USCIS has issued a decision or notice containing a response, appeal, or hearing deadline.

Before Sending Documents or Sensitive Information

Contacting The Messersmith Law Firm, P.A. does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.

Unless the firm already represents you or has authorized you to send particular materials, do not send confidential, sensitive, or time-critical information by ordinary email. An attorney-client relationship is established only after the firm agrees to undertake the representation.
